Morocco origin, Boujaad style hand-woven wool rug, 186 x 300 cm, 100% natural wool, ready to ship and in very good condition.
Description from the seller
At the heart of the Moroccan Middle Atlas, Berber women have woven unique rugs for generations, passed down from mother to daughter. This rug was born from their hands, no machine, no drawn plan. Every symbol comes directly from the weaver’s memory and imagination.
A story woven into every fiber
This piece is a bold, free-form composition on a soft dusty-pink field. A band of teal and black “teeth” runs across the top, above a striped central medallion in cobalt blue, orange, green, and cream. Lower down, an orange gateway-like shape encloses a pointed green-and-orange form, surrounded by diamonds, triangles, and angular figures in teal, black, and blue. The layered colors and improvised layout are typical of the contemporary Boujaad weaving tradition, where each weaver builds the design as she goes.
This isn’t just a rug. It’s a piece of Berber craftsmanship with a strong artistic voice.
Why this rug is unique
100% natural wool, hand-woven
No two pieces alike. Free-hand symbols and irregular placement guarantee authenticity
Rich, colorful palette, perfect for boho, eclectic, or maximalist interiors
Thick, soft pile
Traditional wool fringes
Already made and ready to ship
The imperfection that makes the difference
The shapes are never perfectly symmetrical and the shades vary slightly from one area to another. This is the signature of a genuine handmade rug, not a mass-produced industrial copy.
Where to place it
Large living room, open-plan space, bedroom, studio. At this size, the rug works as a statement piece that anchors the whole room.
