Description from the seller
Mid-Century Modern Deens theeservies (theepot, suikerpot & melkkan) – Hans Bunde voor Cohr Denmark
Beschrijving
A beautiful icon of Scandinavian modernism: this elegant, three-piece silver-plated tea service was designed in the 1950s by the Danish silversmith and designer Hans Bunde (1919–1996) for the renowned silver factory Carl M. Cohr Sølvvarefabrik in Fredericia, Denmark.
The design exudes the typical Danish mid-century vocabulary: flowing, sculptural lines with a bulging body and an asymmetrically raised collar.
The teapot features a seamless rising, slender spout and an elegantly shaped dark handle that sits comfortably in the hand and provides thermal insulation.
Both the teapot and the sugar pot have flat-fitting lids with the characteristic crescent-shaped knop.
The milk jug mirrors the organic form with a slanted-cut pouring lip.
A timeless classic that looks stunning in a modern design interior as well as beside a collector of Danish silver and precious metal design.
