Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Pair of antique French patinated bronze candelabras in the Louis XV Rocaille style, dating to circa 1880–1890, each with two lights, with dimensions 20 cm high, 21 cm wide, 10 cm deep and a total weight of 2.5 kg, in good used condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
A beautiful pair of antique French candelabras (each with two light points) executed in the rich and graceful Louis XV (Neo-Rococo) idiom, dating from the late 19th century (circa 1880–1890).
The design features dynamic, asymmetric lines, graceful C-scrolls, and highly detailed acanthus leaves and floral motifs typical of the French rocaille style. The arms flow in an organic, undulating manner upward from the central stem.
Authentic characteristics & casting method:
The underside of the base shows clear traces of the original, artisanal hand-made sand-casting process. The interior has the characteristic rough, granular texture and displays minimal, harmless casting irregularities (such as shrinkage cracks/cold shuts) inherent to this historic production method. The outer stand ring shows old filing and turning marks. The candelabras are assembled via a central internal mounting pin. No factory blueprints or stamps were found, which is quite common for this type of 19th-century interior bronze pieces."
