Bustamite on matrix with Galena, a cabinet-sized specimen from Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia, weighing 530 g and measuring 13 cm high, 8 cm wide and 6 cm deep.
Description from the seller
An attractive cabinet-sized mineral specimen from the historic Broken Hill ore deposit in New South Wales, Australia.
The specimen features large, elongated aggregates of salmon-pink to reddish-orange Bustamite, accompanied by contrasting dark, metallic Galena. The strongly developed crystalline structure, visible cleavage surfaces and rich pink coloration give the piece a distinctive appearance.
Broken Hill is a classic mineral locality, particularly well known for its manganese-rich mineral assemblages and associations of Bustamite with lead and zinc sulfides.
The specimen comes from an older mineral collection and retains its original historical locality label.
Condition: Good collector condition. The specimen displays natural crystal contacts, cleavage surfaces and some chipped or incomplete crystal edges, as visible in the photographs. No obvious repairs have been identified.
A substantial and visually distinctive specimen from one of Australia's most famous mineral localities.
