Rare raised-relief map of Italy, produced on cardboard by color lithography and embossing, by Captain Giuseppe Roggero and published in Turin by L. Roux & C. in 1886.
The map represents the Italian peninsula and the Mediterranean area, with particular emphasis on the orographic relief.
The map also indicates information relating to the main railways that cross the Alps. The routes of maritime navigation are also shown, thus completing the depiction of the network of connections in nineteenth-century Italy.
The specimen is preserved in a frame with glass, which has contributed to its extraordinary preservation over time.

La carta rappresenta la penisola italiana e l'area mediterranea, con particolare evidenza del rilievo orografico.
La carta riporta inoltre le indicazioni relative alle principali ferrovie che attraversano le Alpi. Sono altresì indicate le rotte di navigazione marittima, completando così la rappresentazione della rete dei collegamenti nell’Italia ottocentesca. 
L'esemplare è conservato in una cornice con vetro, che ne ha favorito la straordinaria conservazione nel tempo.
