THE ARTWORK

“Canal House Chorus” is a tribute to the canal architecture of the Low Countries, rendered in the classic blue-and-white palette of Delft-style ceramics:

The Canal Houses: Five tall gabled townhouses rise side by side, their stepped roofs, arched windows, and rows of decorative bricks shaded in alternating cobalt and cream. A small arched stone bridge crosses the water below, where a single boat drifts along the canal.
The Windmill and Sky: A traditional windmill with lattice sails stands behind the houses, while gulls and soft grey clouds drift across the cream sky.
The Floral Border and Typography: The scene is framed by blue tulips, peonies, and delicate blossoms with curling stems. Two small figures in straw hats stand on the bridge, and the cobalt-edged frame holds the composition in its traditional setting.
