A vintage botanical specimen collection (campionario) with 111 carefully catalogued samples, each labeled with full scientific classification (Class, Family, Genus, Latin species and common name).
Description from the seller
From a private collection, a rare and exceptional vintage scientific-educational botanical seed collection, a true study carpotheca featuring an impressive total of 111 distinct samples of seeds, grains, legumes, and forage plants, meticulously classified and preserved.
Academic Rigor & Scientific Accuracy:
Each individual glass vial features a detailed handwritten label providing a strict academic taxonomic classification: Class (Monocotyledons/Dicotyledons), Family (Gramineae, Papilionaceae, Cruciferae, etc.), Genus, Species in Latin, and Common Name (e.g., Arachis hypogaea / Peanut, Trifolium, Brassica, Festuca, etc.). A museum-quality archiving system that strongly appeals to botany enthusiasts and collectors of scientific heritage.
An outstanding piece for collectors of Naturalia and Cabinet of Curiosities, including:
50 Vintage glass pharmaceutical vials with original stopper seals, each housing a specific seed variety.
61 Sealed sample packets with handwritten/printed labels, accurately identifying each plant species (including Fennel, Melon, Carrot, Parsley, Onion, Chicory, Cucumber, Basil, Rye, Fava Bean, Sainfoin, Fescue, Beetroot, and many others).
Original custom display case lined in vibrant red velvet with a functional metallic snap lock, specifically structured for safe storage and presentation of the glass vials.
Historical Background & Provenance:
Carefully preserved for decades within a private collection, this set was originally used as an educational, lab, and reference sample kit in agricultural institutes, universities, and agronomy research labs during the 1970s–1990s.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition considering the age and delicacy of the materials. All glass vials are fully intact, seeds are well preserved, and the display case remains strong, functional, and visually striking.
IMPORTANT SHIPPING RESTRICTION:
Due to phytosanitary regulations and international customs laws regarding plant materials/seeds, this lot is available for sale and shipping EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU). NO SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE EU (No UK, USA, Switzerland, or Non-EU countries).
A remarkable display piece, ideal for collectors of natural history, scientific instruments, museum exhibits, or as an exclusive decorative element for high-end interiors, apothecary shops, and private studies.
