Description from the seller
Bronze appliqué with geometric decoration — 1st–2nd centuries AD.
Era: Roman Empire.
Proposed dating: 1st–2nd centuries AD.
Material: Bronze.
An interesting bronze appliqué of Roman tradition, characterized by its distinctive ornamental design, with a lower semicircular body flaring into a fan-like shape and an upper part finished with three projections.
The surface features raised vertical ribbing that accentuates its geometric composition and adds depth to the piece as a whole.
On the reverse are preserved elements of the old fastening mechanism, used to attach garments.
Condition: Good integrity of the main body, with green patina of an archaeological appearance, mineral deposits and surface wear.
An attractive piece of ornamental metalwork in the Roman tradition, especially interesting for its unusual silhouette and the preservation of its structural details.
