Description from the seller
A lot of 2 bronze crosses with remains of inlays
15th-17th c.
A fine pair of bronze cross pendants with expanded arms, rounded terminals, and integral suspension loops. Both examples are decorated with circular recesses at the centre and at the ends of the arms, together with rectangular recessed panels containing remains of decorative inlays.
The crosses are in excavated condition, with age-related surface wear, green and dark brown patina, encrustation, and partial losses to the original inlays, yet retaining their distinctive shapes and ornamental details.
An attractive pair of historical bronze crosses with decorative inlay work, ideal for collectors of Christian antiquities, post-medieval religious jewellery, or archaeological metalwork.
3.9 cm and 4.0 cm
Belgian collection, acquired in 1980s.
Certificate of authenticity enclosed.
Shipping inside EU only.
