Description from the seller

Champagne bucket with handles decorated to resemble a grape cluster.

Decoration was applied around the top edge and bottom edge.

This champagne bucket was signed twice with V.CLICQUOT LOUSARDIS, on the front and back.

There is one spot where the silver has worn, bottom left of one of the handles due to use of the bucket.

Also one stamp found on the bottom as seen in the gallery • the initials to be noted are Pillon Adrien (often shown reversed as P.A. or overlaid).

This master mark (poinçon) often shows the initials P.A. in combination with a specific symbol, such as the profile of an Egyptian pharaoh.

Items with this specific hallmark are early pieces of the brand.

Adrien Pillon founded the silver factory in 1867 in the French village of Ercuis. After he went bankrupt around 1870, the company was taken over by Georges Maës, after which the brand later adopted the famous Centaur mark.

Pieces by this designer are hard to find on the current market.

Ideal for chilling wines or other drinks.

In excellent condition and ready to use.

Shipped insured.
