AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Elegant and rare circular coffee table for the living room, shaped from an authentic Restoration-era guéridon (19th century).

The top is a superb, thick original Gris Sainte-Anne marble, characterized by its dark base heavily speckled with white. The marble edge features very fine marbling work, carved with a groove and beaded moulding (moulding in the beak of a corbin).

The tripod base, in solid mahogany, ends in imposing lion-claw feet.

The circular frieze is clad with mahogany veneer. The central shaft has been deftly shortened to a contemporary height of 36 cm, transforming this historic piece into a unique, high-end living-room coffee table.

Dimensions:
Diameter: 97 cm (great span)

Condition: Good overall condition. The marble shows a superb patina with its natural veining (see photos). The mahogany varnish is well preserved. Slight signs of use consistent with the age of the piece, which do not compromise its solidity or charm.
