Description in detail:

• Creator / Manufacturer: Verrerie de Biot (France) created by Éloi Monod (1918-2007), French engineer and ceramist who founded the Verrerie de Biot in 1956. He is a major figure in the history of glass art in France.
Founded in 1956 by the ceramic engineer Éloi Monod in Biot (Alpes-Maritimes), the factory revolutionized glass art. Monod had the genius to transform what was then considered an industrial defect—the air bubble trapped in molten glass—into a unique and patented artistic signature. Since then, every piece is mouth-blown, making each object a unique work of art, highly sought after by vintage design collectors.

• Estimated period: 1960s - 1970s (Vintage period)

• Material: Sodo-calcium glass with bubbles, pigmented through the mass

• Technique: Mouth-blown, hand-shaped (one-of-a-kind piece)

• Color: Cobalt blue / luminous deep blue

• Authenticity mark: Signature “BIOT” engraved with a diamond-tipped tool under the base, 1. This straight, simple, uppercase lettering (“BIOT”) is the classic authentic signature of the vintage period from the 1960s to the 1970s. (see photos)

• Precise dimensions:
• Height: 19.5 cm
• Diameter at the neck: 7.5 cm
• Width at the middle: 6.0 cm
• Diameter at the base: 4.5 cm

• Weight: 0.520 kg

• Condition:

Excellent condition. The glass retains all its original brilliance, shine, and translucency. There are fine micro-scratches from normal use under the base, legitimate for its age and confirming its authenticity.

Note (Neck edge): On tactile inspection, there is a small textured imperfection about 2 cm long on the inner edge of the neck. This is not a crack, impact, chip, or later damage. It is a technical mark of origin, a direct witness of the hot-work by the master glassmaker during the lip shaping or the detachment of iron tools (rod/pontil). It is barely visible (see the latest photos)
