Original hand-painted animation cel with background from the Boes series (Ox Tales/Fantazoo) by Wil Raymakers and Thijs Wilms, dating from 1987 as the oldest item; a unique, complete piece in nearly new condition, approximately 26.1 × 22.5 cm, with the hand-painted image on a transparent cel and the background stapled at the top.
Description from the seller
Complete original animation cel from the Boes cartoon series, consisting of the hand-painted background and the likewise hand-painted image on a transparent cel.
The cel is attached to the background at the top with staples.
This is not a mass-produced series production as you sometimes see with film cels, but a unique, complete piece.
In the mid-1990s, this labor-intensive method of working was abandoned and more and more computer animation was used.
Sent by registered mail/insured.
Boes was created in 1980 by Wil Raymakers and Thijs Wilms and was soon published in a large number of newspapers and weeklies.
From 1981 Boes also appeared in album form, first in the Netherlands but later in many countries worldwide.
The international success of Boes led in 1987 and 1988 to a Japanese animated series. In total, there are 101 episodes, each 10 minutes long.
