Rare group of pyrite crystals with black hematite on a matrix from Elba Island, featuring pentagonal-dodecahedral habit and a golden color.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals we propose a rare group of Pyrite with Hematite crystals originating from the island of Elba.
Moreover, it is characterized by pyrite crystals with pentagonal dodecahedral habit and golden color, embedded on a black hematite matrix that creates a clear color contrast, elements that enhance its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that highlight its natural structure and visual impact.
Pyrite from the Island of Elba is famous worldwide for the pentagonal dodecahedral habit of its crystals, a crystal form typical of this historic locality. The Elban mines, exploited since Etruscan and Roman times for iron extraction, have yielded for centuries beautiful examples of pyrite associated with hematite and other iron minerals. The characteristic golden color of pyrite, due to its iron and sulfur composition (FeS2), earned it in the past the nickname 'fool’s gold'.
This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the context of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with the rarest exceptions always indicated in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight tonal variations may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable and selected express couriers, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days within Europe), tracked and insured shipping, and professional and safe packaging, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also take place the day after payment depending on the destination.
It is possible to accumulate multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, even from auctions with different deadlines, simply contacting us to organize the consolidation. For important pieces, direct home delivery by appointment or at major European fairs is also available.
