Description from the seller
Solid Wood Sideboard/Buffet with Pink Marble Top - Liberty Style
Fascinating solid wood sideboard, dating from the early 20th century and clearly inspired by Liberty (Art Nouveau) style. This piece merges functionality with the ornamental grace typical of the era.
The furniture features:
Body: Solid solid-wood construction in a warm honey-toned finish.
Top: An elegant, thick pink veined marble top, adding a touch of color and distinction.
Decorative Details: The two upper drawers and the two lower doors are enriched with delicate carved incisions featuring stylized floral motifs and sinuous lines, typical of Liberty aesthetics.
Hardware: Original brass handles.
Internals: The interior of the doors and drawers is lined with decorative paper with a small geometric pattern (green/blue on white background), in good condition.
Conditions:
The piece is in good overall condition, solid and stable. It shows the normal signs of time and use consistent with its age, which enhance its authentic patina.
The following details are noted (visible in the photos):
- A slight circular discoloration on the marble top.
- A small nail partially pulled out on the right side, under the top.
- Minor wear marks on the wood finish.
This piece is perfect to decorate a dining room, entrance, or study, bringing a touch of history and the elegance of days gone by. Ready to be placed in a new environment without invasive restoration.
