Elegant two-seat bench sofa in Luigi XIII style – Solid wood and Burgundy-colored Faux Leather – Early 20th Century
Description
Up for auction is a fascinating two-seat bench sofa, a piece of furniture that evokes the solidity and style of the Luigi XIII period. Made in the early decades of the 20th century, this piece combines the sturdiness of solid wood with upholstery in burgundy faux leather, finished with decorative metal studs.
Main Features:
Style: Luigi XIII-inspired. Notable are the curved arms with scroll terminals, the straight back, and, above all, the turned column legs joined by an H-shaped stretcher, which contribute stability and a sober yet elegant appearance.
Materials: Supporting frame in solid wood (probably walnut or stained beech), with a beautiful antique patina. The seat, backrest, and armrest padding is covered in burgundy faux leather.
Details: The upholstery is secured with a perimeter row of patinated metal studs, typical of the style, which add a touch of character.
