Statue, Statue of a Drummer - 22 cm - Brass

A standing, hollow bronze statue of a drummer, created using the traditional West African Dokra (lost-wax) casting method.

The statue depicts a tribal musician, wearing a turban, sporting a beard, and standing barefoot. A traditional African drum is slung at his side, and his hands are raised in a chanting or playing posture. The overall style is simple and rugged, representing classic folk bronze sculpture techniques from the Benin region of Africa. The lost-wax casting process is clearly visible, and the form is full of exotic cultural charm.

The surface has developed a natural patina, and the hollow base still retains the original import label from its early days.
