Description from the seller
Antique French hunting dinnerware – Sarreguemines Nemrod – Utzschneider & Cie – circa 1875-1900 – 13 plates and serving pieces
Special and decorative antique French hunting dinnerware from the renowned earthenware factory Utzschneider & Cie in Sarreguemines, executed in the beloved and collectible Nemrod decor.
This fine dinnerware dates probably from around 1900 and is a wonderful example of French earthenware production from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The plates feature detailed black-and-white hunting scenes, including majestic stags, roe deer, and other wild animals in forested landscapes. The scenes are rendered in refined transfer printing and inspired by historical hunting engravings.
Around the plates is a beautiful decorative rim with oak leaves and branches, giving the dinnerware a characteristic, rustic and classical appearance.
Particularly appealing is that the plates show different hunting scenes, so each plate has its own character. Some patterns form a set of plates.
