Pair of VECA Space Age wall sconces in blue glass and chrome metal, Italy, from the 1970s, two pieces, 26 cm high, 14 cm deep and 10 cm wide, in very good condition with minor signs of wear and age with a vintage electrical system to be checked by a qualified electrician before installation.
Description from the seller
Elegant pair of vintage wall lamps produced by VECA, an important Italian manufacturer at the forefront of lighting design between the 60s and 70s. The wall lamps feature a distinctive oval, sculptural shape made up of six molded blue glass elements arranged around the central metal frame. The particular assembly creates a notable play of depth, reflections and transparencies, typical of Italian Space Age and Mid-Century production of the Seventies. The frame is chrome-plated metal, with metal details that secure the individual glass elements. The cobalt blue hue, particularly intense, makes the pair highly decorative even when unlit. This type is consistent with numerous VECA productions from the 1970s in colored glass and chrome-plated metal; on the market, several similar pairs attributed to the Italian manufacturer are documented. Overall very good condition considering the age. The metal structures are well preserved with only normal light signs of wear. On one of the glass pieces there is a small chip/imperfection on the edge, clearly visible in the photographs and which does not compromise the overall appearance of the item. The electrical system is vintage and is offered in the condition shown in the photographs. For safety reasons, its inspection and possible upgrading by qualified personnel is recommended before installation.
