The Italiana Luce Dove desk lamp, designed by Mario Barbaglia and Marco Colombo, is a metal and glass model from Italy with dimensions 80 cm wide, 30 cm high and 12 cm deep, dating to the 1970s–1980s and in working order.
Description from the seller
De Italiana Luce Dove is a refined desk lamp that convincingly embodies the innovative Italian design of the eighties. Designed by Mario Barbaglia and Marco Colombo, this design combines technical clarity with a pronounced, yet restrained form language.
The name Dove refers to the lamp’s flowing, aerodynamic lines, reminiscent of a bird in flight. The slim arm, the balanced silhouette and the carefully integrated light head give the lamp an almost graphic lightness. Form and function are in complete balance here: each element serves ease of use and visual calm.
The lamp is made from a combination of polycarbonate and steel, resulting in a durable and elegant overall impression. The adjustable arm and swiveling diffuser offer flexibility in use, while the lamp sits visually discreetly in the space. Not striking through decoration, but through intelligent design.
The museum recognition underlines the importance of the Dove within the history of modern lighting design: the model is included in the permanent collections of the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York and the Museo Rufino Tamayo in Mexico City.
