Description from the seller

Higonokami Brass-Handled SK5 Knife – Original SK5 Japanese Knife – Made in Japan

Category Catawiki:
Collectible knives / Traditional Japanese knives

Description:
Elegant traditional Japanese Higonokami knife, made in Japan according to the historic artisanal tradition of famous Nippon folders. This model features refined construction with a brass handle and a high-hardness SK5 carbon steel blade (about HRC 60), prized for its excellent cutting ability and long edge retention.

The minimalist, functional design is typical of authentic Higonokami: manual opening via rear lever (“chikiri”), slim profile and essential lines that evoke the Japanese culture of the traditional utilitarian knife.

The brass handle is embellished with inscriptions in Japanese and a terminal hole for a cord, a practical and characteristic detail of Japanese everyday-use knives. The blade presents a slender, elegant geometry, ideal for both collection and light use.

Authentic Japanese-made item, highly sought after by enthusiasts of Eastern cutlery, vintage-style EDC, and the Higonokami tradition.

Production: Made in Japan
Blade: SK5 carbon steel
Hardness: approx. HRC 60
Blade length: 7.5 cm
