Exceptional and imposing Murano glass sculpture carved in solid mass depicting a Cat Head, a masterpiece signed by the renowned avant-garde designer Marcello Furlan for the famous manufactory LIP (Vetri per Arredare) in 1990.
The work is characterized by a splendid ovoid, compact, and very heavy shape, executed in a massive blown glass of a deep and magnetically transparent cobalt blue color. To give this piece a unique and ironic personality, in full Memphis Group style, the hot-applied geometric details intervene: two large protruding eyes and pointed ears in vibrant red glass, whiskers incised in relief, and a prominent asymmetrical snout in solid black glass applied laterally.
The work guarantees maximum collectible traceability thanks to the original certificate:
• Autograph signature: Engraved clearly with a diamond-tipped point on the resting base: "Marcello Furlan '98".
