Description from the seller

Book, First edition, 1982
Hardbound with a rigid cover and dust jacket (with a crease on the back as in the photo)
Pages 137
Publisher Emmeti Grafica
Language English, Italian

With this monograph, Luigi Fusi aimed to remember and celebrate, after fifty years, the technical-sporting history of the first single-seater built by Alfa Romeo.
Born in 1931, it was named "Tipo A" because it began the line of single-seater models that would establish themselves in the racing world in Europe.
The Tipo A, the author writes, was a stopgap model, built to face the cars of competitors of that period, Italian and French, on the fast circuits. However, it contained ingenious solutions due to the talents of a technician, Mr. Comm. Vittorio Jano, whose cars designed by him helped to establish Alfa Romeo’s name worldwide.
The experiences gained from this model, however, provided the ideas for the next model - the Tipo B - which won all the Grand Prix held in Europe for three consecutive years.
As the designer for the Milan-based company, Luigi Fusi contributed to the realization of this model, preserving many photographs of the era - included in the volume - and obtaining authorization to publish the original drawings, many of which he himself executed.
In the appendix to the volume, he described the reconstruction phases of the "Tipo A" for the Alfa Romeo Museum, with accompanying photographs.
Alfa Romeo Tipo A Monoposto Single-Seater, like other books by Luigi Fusi, for its wealth of information, data and images, has become a classic in motor literature dedicated to the Biscione household, and an indispensable text for any "alfista".
