Extra info
Jersey (Jèrriais: Jèrri) is an island 22 kilometers off the coast of Normandy, France, in the Bay of St. Malo. It is the largest of the Channel Islands. It is home to 101,073 (2020) people, of whom 30% live in the capital, Saint Helier. Like Guernsey and the Isle of Man, located in the Irish Sea, it is not part of the United Kingdom but a British Crown Dependency. Jersey forms together with the uninhabited island groups Minquiers, Écréhous, Les Pierres de Lecq and other rocks and reefs the autonomous bailiwick of Jersey. The United Kingdom is responsible for the defence of Jersey. Jersey is part of the Common Travel Area: a region in which residents of the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man can travel freely without a passport, with a minimal set of identification papers.
