Indochine, 1933 Air Post issue, 175 stamps including a full sheet of 50 and demi-sheets, mint no gum condition, catalogue Yvert et Tellier, titled Important fonds - Planches et demi-planches Poste Aérienne Indochine 1933 (Inclus 10 Piastres).
Description from the seller
Lot description:
Excellent opportunity for a reseller, trader, or investor. A substantial stock including whole sheets and half-sheets from the French colonies (Indochina), dominated by the spectacular Air Mail series from 1933.
The cumulative Yvert & Tellier catalog value of this set exceeds €3,000.
Lot details Air Mail (1933 issue):
10 Piastres red: 1 half-sheet of 25 stamps. (The highest value and the absolute centerpiece of this issue).
5 Piastres violet: 1 half-sheet of 25 stamps.
2 Piastres orange: 1 half-sheet of 25 stamps.
1 Piastre black: 1 full sheet of 50 stamps (with its large central gutter).
60 Cents violet/gray: 1 full sheet of 50 stamps (with its large central gutter).
Condition (Total transparency):
New stamps. The fronts present a magnificent visual display: printing is very fresh, colors are vibrant, and margins are superb.
However, as is the norm for virtually all colonial sheets from this period that spent time in Asia, the gum on the back shows natural tropicalization. Staining and browning of the paper are visible on the back of the sheets. Numerous detailed photos of the backs are provided for complete transparency.
This massive lot (175 stamps in total) is ideal for building or restocking a business stock (resale individually, in pairs, or in sheets of 4). The valuation strictly reflects the dealer discount related to the tropicalization of the paper. The photos are an integral part of the description; please examine them carefully.
