Description from the seller

Rare Ercole Barovier piece, made in iridescent pale blue glass with a pink thread-like border.
At the rear there is the Barovier fire stamp, which also asserts Murano glass production, and the presence of the gold leaf mark on the base guarantees authenticity, preventing it from being confused with a generic unsigned piece.
Very rare piece from the 1940s/1950s.
The mark reads "BAROVIER GLASS MURANO" (mark attributed to the famous Barovier & Toso glassworks or to productions of the Barovier family).

Origin: Murano, Italy (Venice).
Manufacturer: Barovier family (historic Murano glassmaking dynasty, best known for the Barovier & Toso signature).

Material: Murano artistic glass

Inscription: The hot-applied gold leaf stamp on the base clearly reads BAROVIER, GLASS MURANO.

Brandings of this type with English text ("GLASS") were predominantly used from the mid-20th century onward.

This mark is distinctive, a hot-stamped mark with gold leaf, because unlike the more common Murano marks (adhesive paper/aluminum labels or signatures etched with a diamond tip like "Barovier & Toso Murano"), in this case it is a stamp applied with gold leaf/powder onto the glass base.

The English inscription "GLASS" indicates a stamp applied primarily for productions intended for export (e.g., English-speaking markets in the 1940s-1950s).

Because it is a superficial gold leaf finish (not a deep engraving), it tends to wear away with use and cleaning, which is why perfectly intact specimens are rare.

Gold leaf stamp: The presence of the mark on the base guarantees authenticity, preventing it from being confused with a generic unsigned piece.
