Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.

Pair of wall sconces in gilt bronze with black patina and sculpted Nubian hands holding a cornucopia bearing a stylised opaline glass pineapple, in vintage oriental style and attributed to Maison Bagues Paris, France, 35×20×25 cm, in working order with minor aging, no shipping due to fragility and available for in-person pickup.

AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Elegant pair of wall appliqués "arms of light" in gilded bronze with very fine Nubian-hand motifs in a black patina, holding a cornucopia on which rests a stylized pineapple in worked opaline glass.

The whole is crowned with a wreath of palm leaves.

The bronze parts are extremely massive and heavy. They were mounted before removal with cotton threads (see photos), which suggests a production dating from the late 19th century, perhaps even the early 20th.

The casting also appears antique.

Magnificent quality that suggests production by the Paris house Baguès. Superb chasing and quality of workmanship attributed to this great French house.

The glassware is in perfect condition; the glasswork is exceptional and faithfully imitates the rind of the pineapple.

No shipping due to the rarity and fragility of the glassware, in order to avoid any risk. A carrier of your choice can come to collect the item after payment for hand-delivery.

An exceptional decorative value for these Orientalist wall lights—rare.
