Italian corner display cabinet in Revival-transitional style dating to the 1960s–1970s, made of soft wood and finished cream-ivory with a shabby chic patina, 190 cm high, 40 cm deep and 40 cm wide, with a closed base, an upper open section with three quarter-circle shelves, carved rococo-style uprights, a decorative carved top, and a lockable base.
Description from the seller
Corner cabinet (or corner display) in open-shelved Transitional Revival style, characterized by marked verticality and sinuous lines.
The piece is designed to fit perfectly into a corner. It consists of a closed base and an open-shelved upper section.
The upper section features three open shelves in a quarter-circle shape.
The most evident feature is the parchment-like, scroll-shaped uprights (or rocaille scrolls), which frame the shelves with elegant, fluid curves typical of Rococo.
The top is crowned by a carved decorative element in floral and stylized motifs, serving as an ornamental finial.
The base rests on shaped feet and has an lower jamb decorated with a central carved panel featuring a shell motif (coquille) and floral volutes.
The base plane appears, as in the photo, slightly stained, consistent with the object's antiquity.
The piece presents a painted finish in a cream-ivory tone, with a shabby chic patina, artificially aged.
Suitable for modern tastes in Provençal or country chic décor.
In wood, probably (Swiss pine or poplar), then lacquered.
Era:
Object in Louis XV style, a high-quality reproduction of the first half of the 20th century (1920s–1950s).
