Konya - Kelim - 295 cm - 72 cm

Antique kilim, these kilims were made in two parts and sewn together later—often we see them here as well—in one strip.
This piece has hung on a collector's wall for years with those copper rings you see.
A section is folded over—see photos 1 and 2—so that it fit under the ceiling.
You now see the back—the folded-over part is normally not visible,
These are not kilims to lay on the floor as carpeting, but connoisseurs hang them up.
Hung up—with this folded-over part it is now 245 cm tall. If you hang it out completely it would be 295 cm.
An old collector's piece.
Not cleaned, kilims and carpets also have patina.
