Description from the seller

Canterbury Pottery | 6 colorful coffee duos. British ceramic art with character. And what character!!

Six hand-turned coffee duos from the renowned Canterbury Pottery. A splendid interplay of deep cobalt blue, turquoise, fresh green and soft nuances of lilac and pink. The glazes flow almost painterly into one another and give each piece its own look.

Canterbury Pottery was founded in 1963 by Betty Chapman and later carried on by Richard and Jan Chapman. The British family workshop from Canterbury gained renown for its artisanal stoneware and vibrant, characteristic glaze techniques.

This complete set from the 1970s/80s perfectly shows why this workshop is beloved by collectors of British studio pottery.

The organic forms, subtle turning lines and distinctive color contrasts give the dinnerware an artistic appearance. Each cup has its own character, while the six duos together form a beautiful whole.

On a vintage teak table, beside Scandinavian design or as a colorful accent in a sleek modern interior. This ceramics needs little to make an impression.

And during the holidays? Do not hesitate to leave the standard white dinnerware in the cabinet. With these six British beauties, even coffee after Christmas dinner becomes a small design experience.

A barely used, complete vintage set in which British craftsmanship, color and ceramic art come together beautifully.

Seller's Story

We are Mies and Nuno from Cherry Picking. Crazy about items with character and a soul. What started as a shared love for vintage has grown into a mission: to rescue forgotten pearls from oblivion and give them a second life. From distinctive furniture to stylish finds — everything is carefully selected, refurbished, and offered with a wink. Not perfect, but just right. We scour, search, select, and pass on. Why buy new when it can be more beautiful and sustainable? Cherry Picking stands for: • Vintage with a story • Sustainable, quirky, and stylish • Selected with heart and eye. Our style? Retro with an edge. Think: a touch of Hollywood Regency, a hint of brocante, and always with flair. Everything too beautiful to leave behind ends up here.
