Vintage wooden telephone bench, approximately 97 cm wide, 86 cm high and 43 cm deep, with an asymmetrically upholstered back in patterned fabric and a side drawer, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Phone bench (in Anglo-Saxon countries also known as a gossip bench), historically widespread in the second half of the twentieth century for furnishing entryways and allowing one to sit comfortably during landline calls.
The model mirrors the classic shape of the Igina bench model produced by specialized firms such as Mobilsedia 2000, featuring a carved wooden structure in a Baroque-style, Cabriole curved legs, an asymmetrical padded backrest in a floral-patterned fabric with a beige background, and a side module with an integrated small drawer to store the telephone directory or notepads.
Dimensions are:
Width 97 cm, height 86 cm, depth 43 cm
Despite its age, it shows no particular signs of damage worth noting; the fabric has no tears or stains, the wood has some signs of wear, all of which are shown in the photos.
