Description from the seller
Antique Delft Blue five-piece cabinet set – 19th century
A remarkable and complete five-piece Delft blue cabinet set from the 19th century, consisting of three lidded baluster vases and two open beaker vases.
The entire set is hand-painted in characteristic cobalt blue on a white-glazed ground. The front features beautiful landscape scenes with figures, trees, water and sailing boats, surrounded by richly developed cartouches with floral and geometric ornaments. The back and sides are decorated with graceful floral and leaf motifs.
The three lidded vases have beautifully shaped lids, each crowned with a finely molded animal figure. The two open vases have an elegant, upward-flaring form. Through the matching design and painting, the whole forms a particularly decorative and harmonious cabinet set.
On the underside are hand-painted blue marks/monograms.
Dimensions
* Lidded vases: ca. 21.5 cm high
* Open beaker vases: ca. 15.5 cm high
* Total: 5 pieces
Condition: in excellent, sound condition. No cracks, hairlines, chips or restorations observed. Slight irregularities in shape, painting and glaze are characteristic of handmade and hand-painted antique Delft earthenware and contribute to the authentic character.
An attractive and complete 19th-century Delft Blue cabinet set, particularly suitable for the collector of antique Delftware and as a decorative ensemble in a classic interior.
