De Vianne neo-Art Nouveau glass pendant with a multi-layer amber and brown vase shade, signed De Vianne, made in France around 1989–1990, with a 34.5 cm diameter, 9 cm vase height, 54 cm overall height, weight 1250 g, 1 fitting, in working order and in good condition with minor aging marks, supplied with an E27 bulb.
Description from the seller
Verrerie de Vianne — Pendant light with a vase-shaped shade in amber yellow and brown multilayer glass, featuring an acid-etched floral and foliate decor, signed "De Vianne" in cameo within the design. French work in a neo-Art Nouveau style, probably from the late 20th century.
Pendant with a flared bowl, conical shape and rounded bottom in acid-etched multilayer glass. Material
Pendant in twisted cords and ceiling canopy in brass
Style: neo-Art Nouveau, with a manifest inspiration from Gallé glassworks and the Muller brothers.
Diameter of the bowl: 34.5 cm
Height of the bowl: about 9 cm
Ceiling height: 54 cm
Total weight: 1250 g
Circa: 1989-1990
The decor represents a radiant botanical composition, organized around a large central leaf.
One can discern flowers with five petals, floral buds, branched stems and serrated leaves.
The whole evokes stylized mauve or hibiscus flowers.
The composition presents three interesting characteristics:
- An all-over decoration that follows the curvature of the bowl.
- An alternation between large dark botanical masses and a light background.
- Veins and petals finely incised, accentuating naturalism.
-Signature "De Vianne" in cameo, acid-etched, produced in the same dark glass layer as the botanical motifs.
The glassworks "de Vianne" located in Lot-et-Garonne (France) developed after World War I. Initially oriented toward utilitarian glass, it gradually diversified toward decorative glass, lighting, and art crystal.
The chandelier is in excellent condition and in perfect working order (it operates with an E27 screw-in bulb included)
Very carefully protected shipping!
