Lamberti Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2020, in six 0.75 L bottles from Italy.
Description from the seller
Lamberti's Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG displays an intense yet elegant character, with a body that maintains freshness and flavor. The nose opens with aromas of dried dark fruit, cherries in brandy, and plums, complemented by hints of bitter cocoa, tobacco, and light sweet spices; all wrapped in a warm, smooth sensation that makes the profile immediately recognizable without being heavy. The balance between alcohol and acidity keeps the wine lively and easy to drink.
On the palate, it offers full body, with present yet well-integrated tannins and a structure that sustains the drink for a long time: the flavor helps balance the residual sweetness and provides a lingering finish that invites another sip. It pairs well with braised meats, game stews, aged cheeses, and dark chocolate desserts; it's ideal for long conversations or hearty dishes. Serve at around 16-18°C and, if possible, decant to allow the bouquet to unfold; it also lends itself to further refinement in the cellar.
