Antique Lavabo (2) - Copper, Brass - Two Lavabo boilers

Lot of two antique Lavabo kettles. Hammered copper, with brass elements. France or Belgium circa 1850-1900 and 1900-1920

Two beautiful antique copper lavabos (hanging washbasins) to view, recognizable by their characteristic double spout and decorative brass or bronze elements. This type of double-spouted cauldron was historically used in wealthy households for the ritual washing of the hands. As the kettle is closed, they were probably used as humidifiers, or incense burners.

Dimensions: about 22 cm high with handle.

Status: excellent condition; the oldest has a few shallow dents. The other is in good condition.

Photos are part of the description. These were taken under artificial light; color may vary. Mood impressions are shown.
