Description from the seller
Vintage dental drawer with porcelain artificial teeth – first half of the 20th century
A remarkable and authentic piece of dental history from the first half of the 20th century. This original wooden drawer, from a former dental practice, contains an extensive collection of vintage porcelain artificial teeth in a variety of shapes, sizes, and shades.
The artificial teeth are largely housed in their original holders, bearing inscriptions, model numbers, and indications of, among other things, the historic brand Trubyte. The collection includes incisors, canines, and molars, as well as a few mounted dental elements.
The characteristic pink and red holders, combined with the wooden drawer, give the whole item a beautiful authentic appearance.
Such drawers were used in the past by dentists and dental technicians to select artificial teeth for the fabrication of dental prostheses. Today it is a particularly collectible item that offers a fascinating glimpse into the development of dentistry.
The drawer is in its original vintage condition, with signs of wear and aging appropriate to its age and former professional use. Not all holders are fully filled.
A rare and decorative piece of medical heritage, of particular interest to collectors of antique medical instruments, dental memorabilia, and historical curiosities. Also a stunning focal point in a curiosity cabinet or as a decorative object in a dental practice.
