Description from the seller
The legendary benchmark of fine Cognac created by Edouard Martell in 1912. Celebrated for its dominant blend of rare eaux-de-vie from the prestigious Borderies growth, offering unmatched aromatic richness, silky elegance, and timeless distinction.
An exceptional bottle of Cordon Bleu Extra Old Cognac from the legendary house Maison Martell (est. 1715).
First created in 1912 by Edouard Martell, Cordon Bleu is universally recognized as an iconic landmark in Cognac history. It holds a unique position in Martell’s range as an Extra Old (X.O.) level spirit celebrated by connoisseurs for over a century.
What sets Cordon Bleu apart is its high concentration of fine eaux-de-vie originating from the Borderies, the smallest and most sought-after cru in the Cognac region. Martell’s signature double distillation of clear wines without lees, combined with maturation in fine-grained Tronçais oak barrels, yields a Cognac of exceptional floral complexity, velvety texture, and rich structure.
In the glass, it presents a deep copper-mahogany hue with golden reflections. The expressive bouquet reveals vibrant aromas of candied plum, apple, roasted coffee beans, toasted almonds, cinnamon, orange blossom, and subtle oak spice. On the palate, it is exceptionally soft, round, and rich, featuring a magnificent, long, and elegant finish dominated by the signature nuttiness and fruitiness of the Borderies.
