Poggio di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino 2020, 0.75 L bottle, 1 bottle, Sangiovese, Italy, fill level Bordeaux top shoulder, fully intact metal capsule and readable label.
Description from the seller
In Castelnuovo dell'Abate, the most suitable area of Brunello di Montalcino, since 1989 Poggio di Sotto has grasped the noblest soul of the Sangiovese. On a property of 48 hectares, only 20 are destined for vineyards, in a variety of land that fragments with height. The vines grow, in biological conduction, between 190 and 440 meters above sea level on steep ridges on the slopes of Mount Amiata, the large extinct volcano that dominates the horizon and acts as a screen for disturbances coming from the sea.
Among the rows, the choice was unambiguous: Sangiovese, declined on over 182 biotypes that grow freely among the rows. Today this incredible ecological niche represents the most marked originality of Poggio di Sotto, the botanical archive of a centuries-old adaptation of the Sangiovese that has its own internal logic of wonder.
All the wine produced is claimed - in the vineyard - as Brunello di Montalcino. During the aging, tastings and voluntary selections take place to define the portions that will form the Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello and the Reserves. A model estate that dedicates every effort to the selection in the vineyard to capture the quintessence of Tuscany. A winery that has chosen perfection as the only qualitative horizon and that has given life to immortal icons of the Brunello di Montalcino, among the most awarded by international critics.
