Belgan Art Deco uranium glass vase, floral relief model, made by Verreries de Scailmont in Belgium, circa 1930, height 29 cm, width 13 cm, depth 13 cm, in good vintage condition with minor signs of aging and spots, six‑sided foot with a small chip, and fluorescence green under 365 nm UV light.
Description from the seller
Quite a beautiful Belgian Art Deco vase in clear pressed glass, manufactured at the renowned Verreries de Scailmont, circa 1930.
This elegant vase is distinguished by its richly worked relief decoration with large stylized flowers, graceful droplet motifs, and geometrically interlacing lines.
The hexagonal foot and the gracefully flaring, undulating rim give the piece a pronounced architectural character.
A notable feature is the spectacular fluorescence under UV light at 365 nm. The nearly colorless glass changes under ultraviolet light to an intense fluorescent green, indicating the presence of uranium in the glass composition.
The underside bears the incised inscription FAIT EN BELGIQUE, confirming its Belgian origin.
A decorative and characterful collectible that will appeal to both lovers of Belgian Art Deco glass and collectors of uranium glass.
