AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
CANON Canonet QL17 G-III, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Canon Canonet G-III QL17 of 1972 is the final and best-loved version of the Canonet rangefinder line, pairing a fast 40mm f/1.7 lens with shutter-priority automatic exposure, full manual control and Canon's Quick Loading film system in a compact, solidly built body. Its bright coupled rangefinder and large-aperture lens make it one of the most sought-after fixed-lens rangefinders of its era, and it was produced in large numbers until the early 1980s.
Important — please read carefully:
The battery check lamp does not work. Please review the photos and consider this before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use, or minor optical flaws
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Lens: Clear, no issues (cleaned inside)
Viewfinder: Clean (cleaned inside)
Functional
The camera operates properly: shutter fires at all speeds and the light meter responds.
Light seals replaced.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 1.1 OVER / EV15: 0.7 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Lens cleaned internally
- Light seals (foam) replaced
Known Issues
1. The battery check lamp does not light up (the camera and light meter work normally with a battery).
Bundled Items
Lens cap included. Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
