Description from the seller
English Victorian 3-tier Corner Étagère of Walnut Wood with Barley Twist Spindles and Openwork Gallery – Approx. 1890
Description
Beautiful and atmospheric antique English corner étagère from the late Victorian period, circa 1890. This elegant piece is crafted from warm walnut wood and features three gracefully shaped shelves that offer optimal comfort and display space in any corner of the room.
The piece stands out with the characteristic twisted wooden elements (barley twist) and the refined, openwork gallery on the top shelf. The bottom shelf rests on subtle feet with brass wheels, which gives the piece an authentic and refined look. A stunning decorative and functional item that fits perfectly in both a classical and an eclectic interior.
Dimensions
Height: 82 cm
Width: 57 cm
Depth (each corner): 41.5 cm
Condition and Transport
Condition: The étagère is in good, authentic antique condition with light, age-appropriate signs of use and patina that emphasize its character. It has, in the past, undergone an old functional restoration: in one of the legs a screw has been subtly inserted to prevent the leg from turning and to make the construction even sturdier (see detail photo). The construction is therefore robust.
Easy assembly: To guarantee absolutely safe transport, this piece will be shipped fully disassembled. All parts are numbered and clearly marked, making it easy to reassemble the étagère after receipt without tools.
Shipping: The lot is packed with the utmost care and protection and sent via registered/insured shipping, or can be picked up by appointment.
