Description from the seller
A rare, limited-edition commemorative Cognac release by Gautier Frères to celebrate two millennia of discoveries ("Célèbre 2000 Ans de Découvertes"). Housed in a distinctive collector bottle, this expression showcases the historical expertise of Maison Gautier (est. 1755).
An exceptional and rare limited-edition bottle of Cognac Gautier Frères, specially crafted and released to commemorate the milestone of the year 2000: "Célèbre 2000 Ans de Découvertes" (Celebrating 2000 Years of Discoveries).
Produced by Maison Gautier—one of the oldest established Cognac houses in France (founded in 1755 by Royal Decree of King Louis XV)—this special cuvée pays tribute to two centuries of cellar-master tradition and world-changing discoveries. Gautier is uniquely famous for aging its eaux-de-vie in damp cellars situated on an island over the Osme River in Aigre, giving its cognacs a remarkably smooth, balanced, and rounded character.
Specially blended for this historic millennium release, it features eaux-de-vie matured in French oak barrels that display deep bottle-aged complexity.
In the glass, it shows a rich mahogany-amber color with warm copper highlights. The nose is rich and expressive, offering notes of dried figs, candied orange peel, toasted almonds, vanilla, cedar, and subtle rancio. On the palate, it is velvety, well-rounded, and smooth, leaving a long, elegant finish with sweet wood spice and dried fruit.
