Description from the seller
This lot consists of a beautiful pair of clear molded crystal candlesticks from the famous Belgian Val Saint Lambert manufactory, belonging to the renowned "Diamants et Pierreries" service. Both pieces feature a rich and iconic decoration from the Art Nouveau period, officially listed in the manufacturer's general catalog for the year 1913. The structure of each candlestick is distinguished by a gadrooned bobèche shaped like a flared corolla rising above a knop richly cut with diamond points, while the slender vertical ribbed stem rests on a domed pyramidal base adorned with complex geometric patterns alternating diamond points and raised twisted ribs. Each candlestick has an individual height of 25 cm, a base foot diameter of 12.5 cm, and an upper rim diameter of 6.5 cm. The individual weight of each piece is 700 g, representing a combined total weight for the entire lot of 1400 g on the scale. These models bear no engraved signature in the glass, in accordance with the molded crystal production practices of the factory in the early twentieth century. The set remains in good overall condition, beautifully preserving all the clarity and wonderful period brilliance of its crystal, with light normal signs of wear and free of any major flaws or cracks. Shipping is exclusively reserved for mainland European Union member countries, and no delivery can be guaranteed to island destinations or overseas territories.
