Description from the seller
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Recreation of a Bentley S1 Continental Coupé based on a 1959 S1 Limousine
• Right-hand drive (RHD) example.
• Executed in Mason's Black over a deep red leather interior with high-quality woodwork
• Thoroughly revised 4.9-liter inline-six engine paired with an automatic transmission
• Extensive documentation available, including a restoration invoice of over €66,000 (2023) and an appraisal report available on request
HISTORY & OVERVIEW:
The Bentley S1 Continental was built between 1955 and 1959 as the more exclusive, lighter and more performance-oriented variant of the standard S1, with iconic bodies by renowned coachbuilders such as H.J. Mulliner and Park Ward. This specific example is a high-quality recreation of a Continental Coupé, built on the basis of an original Bentley S1 Limousine from 1959. The car underwent a thorough restoration in 2023 by Hooper International in Arnhem. There is extensive restoration documentation available, including a 2023 invoice of over €66,000 and a USB stick with around 400 restoration photos.
EXTERIOR:
The bodywork is in a beautiful and very well-maintained condition, finished in the classic Mason's Black. The gaps and panel lines follow the streamlined Continental Coupé design. The chrome work around is in excellent condition. The paint has a lovely shine, though there are a few very light cosmetic imperfections. The panel gaps are exceptionally neat.
INTERIOR:
The interior is in very good condition and finished with deep red leather upholstery and authentically veneered woodwork. All details have been restored with a strong regard for history, including the windshield wiper motor which has been completely dismantled and refurbished, and the installation of a completely renewed wiring harness.
ENGINE & TECHNICAL:
Under the hood sits the classic 4.9-liter inline-six engine, paired with a smoothly shifting four-speed automatic transmission. The engine has been restored to the finest detail, showing excellent oil pressure, runs beautifully, and provides a quiet, powerful driving experience. The technology features F-series updates, such as upgraded brake boosters, modified rear damper mounting, grease-lubricated steering rods, and dual windscreen washers. New brake cylinders have also been installed. The car is in excellent driving condition.
DOCUMENTS:
The vehicle is delivered with extensive documentation, including a restoration invoice of over €66,000 from 2023, an official appraisal report from 2023, and a USB stick with approximately 400 photos of the restoration process.
The vehicle can be viewed and collected in Mook, the Netherlands. Bids exclude transport and export, unless otherwise stated. Arranging transport, ownership transfer, and any export documents/COC costs is the buyer’s responsibility.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
