DEGAS
Edgar Degas (1834-1917) The life of the Parisian painter has known few dramatic moments. Oldest son of a wealthy family, this solitary, cynical and snobbish man had every leisure to devote his life to art. He remained single, moreover, because, in his view, love and work cannot be shared.
His classical training is reflected in his early works, notably the austere lines of his idol Ingres. While he firmly established himself as an independent realist, he was very closely tied to the Impressionist revolution. The themes and techniques he developed constituted a synthesis between traditional painting and modern painting.
Parastone has been successfully creating decorative objects for almost 50 years, some of timeless classical beauty and others more aligned with prevailing trends. The museum-piece collection presented under the name Mouseion forms an important part of the collection. Besides faithful reproductions of major artworks, the Mouseion series also includes three‑dimensional interpretations of paintings and drawings by many artists, from Hieronymus Bosch to Salvador Dalí.
« decorative object, luxury item, table art, collector, interior decoration, statuette, sculpture, no panther, no Orlinski, no Koons, pop art, no Kong, no pompon »
