HISTORY/DOCUMENTATION
This fine Alfa Romeo was new from Albatros Automobiel Amsterdam on May 3, 1978. The original maintenance booklet is still with the car, in which early years maintenance was recorded frequently. The first owner kept the car for a long time until 1998. The second owner also enjoyed the Alfa for a long time, until 2011. The car is damage-free and has been well preserved over the years, making it a very original car. Logically there are signs of usage appropriate to the car’s age, but the car has not been restored. There is a RDW kilometer report, as well as an invoice from 2025 and an APK form (valid APK until June 17, 2027). The color combination of the dark blue paint and the black faux-leather interior is original and attractive. Based on the recorded maintenance, the RDW kilometer report, and the original condition, it is very likely that the original mileage is 149,430 km.
EXTERIOR
The Alfa is finished in the stylish dark blue color 'Blu Olandese' (Dutch Blue). The 15" GTA Veloce Style alloy wheels are in very good condition (new price €1,490). The body has good panel gaps and is damage-free. The paint shows some signs of use and the rubber and chrome are largely original. Rust spots are visible in the wheel arches. The lighting functions correctly. At the front, the distinctive yellow lights are mounted: historically mandatory in France and often optional in other countries. All in all, a fresh visual appearance and very original condition, especially given the age of the car.
INTERIOR
The black faux-leather interior is also in very original condition. There are some signs of use, such as slight cracking on the passenger seat. The interior features attractive gauges and a wooden dashboard. The car handles well with the fine wooden three-spoke steering wheel. The gauges are working and in good condition. The leather upholstery is crack-free. For safety and comfort, the car has heating and seat belts. A Philips radio is installed. The trunk space is surprisingly roomy and in neat condition. The rubber floor mat bears the Alfa logo. Also included are a jack and spare wheel.
TECHNICAL
The Giulia has been well maintained by an Alfa Romeo specialist. The wheels are all around with Continental tires in good condition. The manual 5-speed gearbox paired with rear-wheel drive provides an ultimate driving experience. The car starts, drives, and shifts well. The engine is a 4-cylinder inline with 1570 cm³, 8 valves, and 2 Weber carburetors. It delivers 102 hp at 5500 rpm and a torque of 142 Nm at 2900 rpm. The car can still hold its own in today’s traffic and has a top speed of 175 km/h. The brakes are original disc brakes all around.
GENERAL
The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a model name that Alfa Romeo has used at various times for three unrelated ranges. The best-known is the first generation (Type 105), a sporty four-door sedan built between 1962 and 1978. Later, the name was used for modified versions of the Giulietta models, and in 2015 it was reintroduced for a modern sedan. The original Giulia was notable for combining a relatively powerful engine with a lightweight body of about 1,000 kg. It featured an advanced four-cylinder engine with double overhead camshafts, available in 1.3- and 1.6-liter variants. Thanks to this technology, the Giulia was known for lively handling and strong performance for its class. The 1.6-liter “Super” version, for example, reached a top speed of around 170 km/h and sprinted to 100 km/h in about 12 seconds — impressive for its time.
Although the design was fairly angular and simple, it proved surprisingly aerodynamic. Wind tunnel testing helped achieve a low air resistance, contributing to the car’s performance and efficiency. In 1974, the Giulia Super range was reintroduced as the Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova Super, including the 1300- and 1600- versions. These models received a refreshed look, with a black plastic grille and a flat boot lid without the distinctive center line. Production of this range ran until 1977 and was followed by the Giulietta.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
