Description
Beautiful and entirely original mixed media illustration by renowned Italian comic book artist and illustrator Barbara Canepa, internationally celebrated as the co-creator of the acclaimed comic series Sky Doll, together with Alessandro Barbucci.
Canepa is one of the distinctive figures in contemporary European comic art. Her work is characterised by elegant female characters, expressive faces and a highly recognisable visual style combining European comics, Japanese manga and animation influences.
This charming original drawing depicts a playful, winking female character with flowing hair and an elaborate fantasy-inspired costume.
Executed in delicate black ink lines, the illustration is enhanced with subtle silver and gold-coloured accents, shimmering glitter and small three-dimensional decorative stars, creating a rich and visually appealing composition.
The artwork was drawn entirely by hand on Barbara Canepa's own illustrated stationery, which bears the printed copyright notice 2008 MC Productions / Barbucci / Canepa along the right margin. This printed notice relates to the stationery itself, not to the original drawing.
The illustration is personally signed by Barbara Canepa in the lower right corner.
