Description from the seller
Roman bronze signet ring with an engraved archer
Roman period, 2nd–4th centuries AD
Bronze.
Interesting bronze signet ring with an oval bezel engraved in intaglio, decorated with the depiction of an archer. The composition shows a schematic yet expressive figure, resolved with notable linear strength, typical of the ancient small glyptic art.
A piece of great iconographic interest, both for its function as a personal seal and for the presence of a warrior and hunting motif very characteristic of the classical repertoire.
