Wall clock ABK 30 (Tipo 4861), designed by Dietrich Lubs in Germany, made of ABS plastic with a quartz movement powered by one AA battery, 20 × 20 × 2.5 cm and about 0.5 kg, released in 1982 within Braun design heritage, in very good vintage condition.
Description from the seller
Absolute icon of industrial design from Braun's golden era, developed in 1982 under the aesthetic direction of Dieter Rams and designed by Dietrich Lubs.
This ABK 30 model (Type 4861) is a highly sought-after collectible piece thanks to its radical functionalist approach and its visual engineering solutions:
• Concave dial without factory glass: Originally designed without a protective crystal. This completely eliminates light reflections and bothersome glare, guaranteeing perfect legibility from any angle in the room. The hands are perfectly sheltered thanks to the three-dimensional concave relief of the dial.
• Direct front adjustment: Includes the famous central knurled knob in cream color, designed so the user can change the time quickly and directly from the front, without having to take the clock off the wall.
• Functional aesthetics: Ultra-flat housing with an elegant brown perimeter frame. It features a clean, high-visibility sans-serif typography.
• Authenticity: Original "Made in Germany" engraving visible at the bottom of the dial and molded into the back of the case. The back shows the original open battery compartment, a minimalist factory detail that dispenses with unnecessary caps.
Technical specifications:
• Designer: Dietrich Lubs
• Year of release: 1982
• Materials: High-strength matte ABS plastic
• Movement: Original German quartz
• Power: 1x AA battery (1.5V LR6)
• Color: White dial / dark brown bezel
Dimensions and weight:
• Height: 20 cm
• Width: 20 cm
• Depth/thickness: 2.5 cm
• Weight: approx. 0.5 kg
Condition:
(Complete with your clock's real option)
