Description from the seller

Bronze ornamental plaque with a zoomorphic mask – ancient metalworking

Singular cast bronze plaque representing a stylized animal mask, with large lateral ears, almond-shaped eyes clearly defined, forehead decorated with horizontal reliefs, and a prominent nose.

The piece features a concave back with a metal fixing shaft, corresponding to its original function as an ornamental furniture element, harness, or other support.

Preserves an attractive dark green patina with earthy deposits and ochre oxidations, as well as an expressive facial decoration.
